    4 Ways to Rock a Denim Jacket This Fall

    As the temperature falls, what kind of jacket will you grab? Denim jackets are a classic staple that have made a big resurgence the last couple seasons. I’m sharing how to style my go-to denim jacket (super affordable, as its price varies between $40 and $80!) four different ways!     THE CHALLENGE

    Without any heads up on what four pieces were arriving, I challenged myself to create outfits integrating a denim jacket to show you 1) how you can effortlessly layer denim over sequins, stripes, prints, or solids, and 2) how easily The Ms. Collection integrates into your existing wardrobe!

    THE LOOKS

    The first example feels SO versatile — I feel like it’s perfect for a casual work environment (where are my school teacher readers at?!) and throwing on the floppy hat make it feel ready for the farmers market or a wine tasting.     This coral jumpsuit from The Ms. Collection was just my speed — a bold color with a comfortable fit! Adding a snakeskin belt helped to make it feel a little more fall-like and the denim jacket made for the perfect transitional outfit! Add in neutral open toe booties and a taupe colored tote and you’ve got an outfit that can definitely stand the test of time through several seasons!

    A denim jacket might feel casual, but it’s getting an upgrade with this sequin leopard print skirt! I love the mix of textures in this look, and how the white sheer blouse from The Ms. Collection simply pulls this look together.

    I grabbed the denim jacket for this western-inspired look, again playing with textures to make an interesting yet cohesive outfit!     It’s no secret that animal print is here to stay — and while I’ve had fun wearing it during spring and summer, FALL is my favorite time for these fun pieces! As we close out summer, I’m sharing several ways to transition your warmer weather wardrobe while rocking this fun trend.     One of the easiest ways to incorporate animal prints are in small doses — like accessories! Pop on a python belt or pick up a hat with some skin for trim — and you’ll update a previous go-to piece with this season’s twist! When I spotted this light wash denim skirt from The Ms. Collection, I knew I wanted to pair it with a white bodysuit and grab a jacket for a top layer. Adding a snakeskin belt updated it to a fall transitional look — and adding the felt hat with a snakeskin band sealed the deal! Accenting with a calf hair leopard print belt and/or booties would achieve the same effect!

    A leopard may not change its spots — but YOU can change the color! Wear the trend without looking like everyone else by opting for animal print in fun colors instead of the usual neutrals. This can also be a fun way to incorporate the trend if you’re shy about animal prints because at first glance, this skirt doesn’t look like cheetah! I paired it with a wine colored soft jersey knit blouse from The Ms. Collection — which could easily be worn to work or play, paired with slacks or denim!

    Step up your print game with some fun footwear! From booties to heels, open-toe sandals to OTK boots, we’re seeing animal print running rampant in the shoe department. This sleeveless jersey ruched dress from The Ms. Collection is a warm weather staple, but easily transitions to fall when you add snakeskin booties (I think of them as an “elevated neutral.”) Leopard heels, zebra booties, or snakeskin over-the-knee boots will all be go-to designs over the coming months, and putting the trend on your feet allows you to make a sexy and sophisticated statement.

    What to Pack for a Weekend Getaway!

    Packing for a trip is always a process — whether it’s a long weekend or a couple week excursion! You raid your closet for fun go-to pieces, see what you’re lacking (or discover that you can’t find something you love!), and make a quick dash to the mall to fill in the gaps or get a special statement piece.

    I had the opportunity to spend a few days in Galveston for my sister-in-law’s bachelorette party, and in the midst of all my summer chaos, the weekend snuck up on me with little time to pack!     SASSY SKIRT

    What’s a night out without a little flare? The Ms. Collection sent this saucy, saturated teal green skirt which I saved for the last evening!     VERSATILE DRESS

    A white blouse is another wardrobe staple — but this one came with a twist (or should I say a TIE!) The dressier, thicker fabric and wrap waist made it a piece that’s easy to dress up, though I could have paired it with shorts, a colorful skirt, or distressed denim too! And whenever I’m wearing a white blouse or dress, a bag with a pop of color is a MUST (but knowing me, you already guessed that!)

    How To: Style Summer Florals

    Colorful prints are everywhere this summer, and florals are my favorite of all to style! Whether you go big & bold or soft & sweet, there are so many ways to add a touch of feminine to your wardrobe.     KEEP IT SWEET

    Wanna keep your florals looking feminine? This sweet wrap dress fits the bill with its baby blue and pastel pink accents. I paired it with this awesome bucket bag (a steal at $50 compared to the designer $350 version!) and pulled the pastel pink into these burst-style earrings which mimic a floral shape.

    BRIGHT & BOLD

    I adore bold colors, so when I spotted this watercolor infused zip-up skirt in my The Ms. Collection pack, I was simply in love! When a pattern is bold, I like to keep other elements like this camisole and my shoes subtle. Accessories give you plenty of options to change the look, so whether you pull out a pop of color or keep it neutral with creams, the options are endless!     ADD SOME TEXTURE

    Florals are naturally “soft”, so I like adding texture to floral outfits to create plenty of extra interest. The Ms. Collection sent me this pretty floral tie-waist dress that’s office and brunch appropriate, but I decided to take it in a totally different direction!

    For this outfit, I popped on a floppy hat and grabbed a bamboo bag — both accessories are summer must-haves! Then I added suede leather sandals just to throw one more texture into the mix. I think the end result is fun and memorable!
